Filomena Rizzo, 78, of Whiting, mother of Chef Domenic of Domenico's Restaurant in Ventnor, NJ, passed away Monday, August 23, 2010 Born in Italy, she lived in Yonkers, NY before moving to Whiting in 1990. Filomena enjoyed cooking, homemaking and, most of all, her family. She was predeceased by her husband, Vincent in 2006. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Italia and James Whiting of Wappingers Falls, NY; her son, Nicola Domenico Rizzo of Ventnor, NJ and three grandchildren, Annemarie and Matthew Whiting and Isabella Rizzo. Relatives and friends may call from 3 to 5 p.m. Wednesday and 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Thursday morning at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Rd, Whiting. A funeral liturgy will follow at 11 a.m., at the All Saints Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. Interment will be at Whiting Memorial Park.
