Julia Harcar Mason, 93, of Whiting, passed away Saturday, May 8, 2010 at The Pines at Whiting. Born in Somerville, she lived in Bridgewater and Raritan before moving to Whiting in 1982. Julia was a Librarian and worked most of her career in the Somerset County Library specializing in New Jersey History. She enjoyed reading and was very active and always involved in life. She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. Julia was predeceased by her husband of 67 years, Silvio in 2007. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Johanna and Roger Hazen of Donola, IL; two grandsons, Christopher Hazen of St. Louis, MO and Matthew Hazen and his wife, Tess of Arlington, WA and one great-grandson, Zachary Hazen. Relatives and friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m., Saturday morning at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting. A Funeral Liturgy will follow at 10 a.m. at the All Saints Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. Interment will be at St. Bernard Cemetery, Bridgewater, NJ.
