Margaret Brooks

Margaret S. Brooks, 103, of Whiting, passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at Crestwood Manor Health Care in Whiting. She lived in Verona for 89 years before moving to Whiting in 1996. Margaret graduated from Verona High School in 1924 and the Edith Young Art School, Newark in 1927. She was a gifted needle worker and seamstress. Prior to her marriage, she was a commercial artist. She was a lifelong member of the First Congregational Church. She was predeceased by her husband, Ronald T Brooks in 1991 and her grandson, Edward T. Kleme in 2006. She is survived by four children, David W. of Verona, Frederick T. and his wife, Elaine of East Orlenas, MA Richard L. and his wife Jane of Wycoff and Barbara Kleme and her husband, Ed of Whiting; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Margaret's memory to Crestwood Manor Employee Appreciation Fund, 50 Lacey Road, Whiting, NJ 08759. Cremation is private and under the direction of Manchester Memorial, Whiting.
