Margaret "Greta" Weafer, 84, of Whiting, passed away, on Thursday, July 23, 2009, at home. Greta was born in Ballyhaunis, Ireland and lived in Lewiston, ME before moving to Whiting in 1999. She was a bookkeeper for Combustion Engineering, Bloomfield, NJ. She was a very proud volunteer at Somebody C.A.R.E.S. in Whiting, enjoyed sewing and loved working on the computer. She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. She was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Patrick in 2001 and two sisters, Christena Elwood and Belinda Bowen. She is survived by one son, Tom of West Orange; three sisters, Bernadine McDermott, Lillian Doherty and Vera Waldron; several cousins, nieces and nephews in Ireland. A Memorial Mass will be offered 11 a.m., Saturday, August 8, 2009 at the All Saints Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting.
