Martin V. Socha, 88, of Whiting, passed away Monday, September, 12, 2011 at Whiting Health Care Center. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he lived in Queens and New York City before moving to Whiting in 1986. Martin was a distribution clerk for the U.S. Postal Service for 17 years, retiring in 1984. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion, Post #502, Whiting. He was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting and a member of the church's Holy Name Society. Martin is survived by three nephews. A Funeral Liturgy will be offered at 10:45 a.m., Friday at the All Saints Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 30 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting, NJ. Arrangements are under the direction of Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting, NJ.
