Peter Monticello, 79, of Crestwood Village III, Whiting, passed away Saturday, August 21, 2010. Born in Newark, he lived in South River before moving to Whiting in 1993. Pete was a liquor store manager for several locations. He was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. He was predeceased by his wife, Katherine in 1996; his daughter, Phylis Monticello in 1988; three brothers, Joe, Frank and Mario and a sister, Syilvia Bongiovanni. He is survived by his fiancée, Marilyn Hardaker of Whiting; his son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Marie Monticello of Toms River; a sister, Mary Petrecca of Linden; four grandchildren, Richard, James, Stephanie and Gina; five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesday and from 9 to 9:45 am Wednesday morning at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Rd, Whiting. A funeral liturgy will follow at 10 a.m., at the All Saints Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. Interment will be at Whiting Memorial Park. Donations in his memory may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 30 East 33rd St., New York NY 10016.
