Peter Monticello, 79, of Crestwood Village III, Whiting, passed away Saturday, August 21, 2010. Born in Newark, he lived in South River before moving to Whiting in 1993. Pete was a liquor store manager for several locations. He was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. He was predeceased by his wife, Katherine in 1996; his daughter, Phylis Monticello in 1988; three brothers, Joe, Frank and Mario and a sister, Syilvia Bongiovanni. He is survived by his fiancée, Marilyn Hardaker of Whiting; his son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Marie Monticello of Toms River; a sister, Mary Petrecca of Linden; four grandchildren, Richard, James, Stephanie and Gina; five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesday and from 9 to 9:45 am Wednesday morning at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Rd, Whiting. A funeral liturgy will follow at 10 a.m., at the All Saints Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. Interment will be at Whiting Memorial Park.
