Raymond McCallen

Raymond W. McCallen, 90, of Crestwood Village VII, Whiting, passed away Sunday, May 3, 2009, at Van Dyke Hospice in Toms River. Mr. McCallen was born in Yonkers NY and lived there until moving to Whiting in 1981. He was an employee of Chase Manhattan Bank for 18 years and then for Yonkers Savings Bank (now HSBC) for 17 years, retiring in 1981. He served with the US Coast Guard and the US Navy during WWII. He was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting He was predeceased by two brothers, Msgr. John J. McCallen and Edward McCallen and his sister, Celeste McCallen. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Barbara Sapko McCallen; one sister, Dorothy Fitzgerald of Whiting, two nieces, three nephews, five great nieces and five great nephews. Relatives and friends may call Wednesday, May 6, 2009, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting followed by a Funeral Liturgy at 12:30 p.m. at the All Saints Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting.
