Robert Oppegard

ROBERT A. OPPEGARD, 83, of Neptune Twp, formerly of Whiting, Manchester Twp, passed away on March 6, at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune. Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. He resided in Brooklyn, and Crestwood Village VI, Whiting, before moving to Neptune. He worked A-B Machine Works, in Brooklyn, retiring in 1990. Robert was President of the Aviation Club,a member of the Safety Patrol, and Residents Club all of Village VI. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post 8745 and member of the Navy League, Lakehurst, NJ. He was commander of Seabees of America. Robert was a veteran of the US Navy during World War II. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Whiting. Robert was predeceased by his wife Evelyn in 2001. He is survived by his daughters Debbie Sellars and her husband Peter of East Sandwich, MA and Dianna Oppegard of Plainfield, NJ; one sister Eleanor Goodpaster of Little Egg Harbor, NJ; and two grandchilren Jeffrey and Stephanie Sellars. Burial will take place on April 11, 2007 at 12:30pm, at the Brig. General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ.
