Rose Marie T. O'Malley

September 1, 1940 - January 8, 2022

Rose Marie T. O’Malley (nee McBride), 81, of the Whiting section of Manchester passed away on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at home, surrounded by her children. Born and raised in the Bronx, moved to Ridgewood Queens before settling in Jackson NJ in 1962. She lived in Whiting NJ since 1998. Prior to retiring in 2005, Mrs. O’Malley was a medical secretary for many years. First at Kimball Medical Center and later at Jersey Shore Orthopedics. She was a proud Irish-American, and was a member of the Irish-American Club of Whiting. She enjoyed traveling with husband and family, loved playing board games, especially Scrabble and Upwords, and also enjoyed puzzles. Her favorite joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Richard O’Malley, in 2001, and her sister, Marie McBride. She is survived by her children, Ann Marie McDonald and her husband Martin of Brick, Richard O’Malley and his wife Eileen of Middletown, Margaret Ahmed and her husband Munir of Toms River, Rose Hartmann and her husband David of Medford, and Kevin O’Malley and his wife Kim of Freehold; and her grandchildren, Ryan, Meghan, Jamil, Sean, Brendan, Shannon, Kiara, Erich, Luke, and Chase; her great-granddaughter Layla; and her siblings Anne Witczak, Margaret King, John McBride and Tim McBride, and a very large extended family. Visitation will be from 9am to 10:30am Wednesday at Manchester Memorial Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting, with a 10:45am Mass at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton RC Church. Entombment will follow at St. Mary of the Lake Cemetery, Lakewood. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association.
