Sr. Hearne

Timothy C. Hearne, Sr., 91, of Whiting, Manchester, passed away Monday, March 9, 2009 at home. Born in New York City, NY, he lived in Whitesboro, NY Bloomfield, NJ, and Linwood, NJ before moving to Whiting in 1983. Mr. Hearne was a Comptroller for Chesebrough-Ponds Corporation, Sherburne, NY. He was a Major in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a communicant, Lector and Eucharistic Minister of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. He was Past President of the Holy Name Society of the church. He was a member of the Bocci and Bowling Leagues of Crestwood Village V and was on multiple committees including the Budget Committee. He was also the a member and president of the Village V Men's Golf League. He was predeceased by his son, Edward Michael in 2005 and a grandson, Geoffrey in 1974. He is survived by his wife, Margaret; five children and their spouses, William T. and Sandra of Verona, James P. and Carol of Piedmont, SC, John J. and Anna of Whiting, Timothy C., Jr. and Rosa of Holmdel and Robert R. of Fargo, ND; one daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Hearne; 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., Thursday and 8 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. Friday morning at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting. A Funeral Liturgy will follow at 9 a.m. in the All Saints Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. Interment will be at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to St. Peter's College, Jersey City, NJ or Regis High School, Manhattan, NY.
