Alma D. Prykanoski, 97, of Lakewood, passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at Leisure Park Skilled Nursing Center in Lakewood. Born and raised in Trenton, she moved to Whiting in 1979. Alma received her RN from St. Francis School of Nursing, Trenton, graduating in 1935. She was a Registered Nurse and Nurse Anesthetist at St. Francis Hospital and Mercer Hospital for 40 years. She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting and volunteered for the Parish Nurses. She was a member of the church's Altar Rosary Society. Alma was predeceased by her husband, Dr. Joseph Prykanoski in October 2004. She is survived by one niece, Kathleen DeFina of Trenton, her sister, Eldreda Franko of Beaver Dam, VA and one nephew, Louis Keifer. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., Monday, Nov. 28th at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Rd, Whiting. A Funeral Liturgy will follow at 10:45 a.m. at the All Saints Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. Entombment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, Trenton.
