Albert J. Mrozowski, 89, of Whiting, passed away on Friday, June 24, 2022 at Complete Care at Whiting. Born in Jersey City, he lived in Staten Island from 1966 until settling in Whiting in 1999. Mr. Mrozowski worked as a cutter in the garment industry in Manhattan until retiring in 1991. He enjoyed playing pool, trips to Atlantic City, fishing and crabbing and gardening. He was a youth basketball and softball coach in the 70s at St. Sylvester's in Staten Island. He served in the US Army in the early 1950s. He was predeceased by his parents, Casimir and Stephanie Mrozowski; his son-in-law, Michael Orteca; and his siblings. Eleanor, Sylvia, Irene, Pauline, Charles, Joseph, and Frank. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Catherine; two daughters, Stephanie Mrozowski and Mary Mancini and her husband John of Union Beach; his grandchildren, Victoria Mancini, Jonathan Mancini, and Melissa McGovern; and a great-grandchild on the way. Private services were entrusted to Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Deborah Heart and Lung Hospital.
