Alexander Hanek, 94, of Whiting passed away on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at home. Born in Newark, he lived in Fairfield before moving to Whiting in 1995. Mr. Hanek was a Mechanical Engineer for Westinghouse, Bloomfield, prior to his retirement. He was predeceased by his wife, Ruth, in 2019, and by his parents and siblings. He is survived by his children, Janet Willard and Christine Hanek, both of Whiting, and Robert Hanek and his wife Michele Wall of Hollis, NH; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Monday, June 20, 2022 from 2-4 and 6-8pm at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:45am at the All Saints Chapel of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton RC Church, 30 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting. Interment will follow at the BG WC Doyle Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown.
