Alice
Nemechek
August 11, 1939 – June 25, 2025
Alice Mary Nemechek, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and cherished friend, passed away June 25, 2025, peacefully at the age of 85, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on August 11, 1939, in Staten Island, New York, Alice was the beloved daughter of Catherine Lunney and William Colvin. She grew up in a warm, close-knit family and held dear the memories of her Staten Island roots throughout her life.
Together with her husband, Andrew Nemechek, they built their home in New Jersey and raised four devoted children. Alice was the beloved mother to Catherine, Andrew, and his wife Maria, Mary, Charlotte, and her husband Eddie. Her family was her greatest joy, and she gave her heart fully to each of them.
She was a proud and loving grandmother to Alyson Salzman, Andrew Nemechek, Thomas Mull, Michael Smith, Shannon Barrientos, Sean Wood, and Christopher Smith. She was adored by her ten great-grandchildren. Her gentle presence, kind words, and unconditional love will remain a lasting influence in their lives.
Alice was survived by her dear brother, Arthur. Predeceased by her loving husband, Andrew Nemechek, longtime companion, Alfred Boone, and siblings, Evelyn, William, Daniel, Edward, George, and Donald. She spoke often and fondly of her siblings, cherishing the deep bonds they shared.
Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, and dear friends, Alice was a caregiver to all — always ready with a helping hand, a listening ear, or a warm embrace. Her compassion and strength were constants in the lives of those lucky enough to know her.
She found peace in the simple beauty of nature and especially enjoyed watching the birds and deer outside her window. These small joys reflected her deep appreciation for life's gentle moments.
Alice's legacy is one of love, generosity, and devotion to family. She will be deeply missed and forever held in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
