Alois Spindler, age 101, of Whiting NJ passed away on Aug. 19, 2022 at Brandywine Living at Brandall Estates in Linwood NJ. Born in Krems, Austria on April 7, 1921, he and his wife Wilma and their two children arrived at Ellis Island in October 1953. They initially settled in Newark N.J. and later purchased a house in South Plainfield NJ. Upon retirement from his position as a Quality Control Specialist with Universal Tools and Manufacturing Company in Springfield NJ, he and his wife moved to Toms River N.J. where they both enjoyed frequent strolls on the Seaside Heights boardwalk. In March of 1999 he laid to rest his wife Wilma after 50 plus years of marriage. Several years later, a mutual friend introduced him to a lovely lady, Gisela. They found they had much in common, became best friends, and a wonderful twenty year relationship began. While family gatherings and travel were the highlights of his life, he was an avid soccer and baseball fan, and thoroughly enjoyed watching a good game on TV. He is survived by his sister Teresa Hegenbart from Pittsfield MA; his daughter Renate Eichelberger and her husband Gene of Cape May Courthouse NJ; his son Gerhard Spindler and his wife Beth of Earlysville VA; his four grandchildren Melinda, Jerilyn, Neali, and Jessica; a great granddaughter Izabella; his niece Ingrid and nephew Erich; his life partner Gisela Postel of Whiting NJ; and many extended family members. Funeral services were held at Christ Lutheran Church in Whiting NJ, with entombment at Ocean County Memorial Park in Toms River NJ.
