Anita C. Murphy, 79, of Whiting, NJ peacefully passed away on the morning of July 31, 2026 in the comfort of her home. Anita was born and raised in Elizabeth, NJ by parents James and Anna Mulhall. Anita lived in Roselle, NJ for a short period of time before moving to Parlin, NJ where she resided for over twenty-five years and finally decided to settle in Whiting after her retirement in 2016.
For most of Anita's career she worked as a jeweler for Martin Jewelers in Cranford, NJ. After her retirement, she decided to become a teacher's aide at The Goddard School, where she was a strong helping hand for the children in her class. Anita was very proud of her Irish heritage and loved to travel to Ireland to learn more about her family's past as well as herself. If she wasn't traveling to Ireland, Anita was on a cruise enjoying the views of the oceans as well as the destinations or visiting one of her favorite spots, Marco Island, FL.
Anita is predeceased by her loving husband Cornelius "Neil" Murphy (2022). She is survived by her sisters and their spouses, Geraldine and Ron Auer of Lady Lake, FL, Regina and John Seeger of Lady Lake, FL, and Irene Druskin of Union, NJ; as well as her loving nephews Gerald Mulhall and Nathan Druskin; and many loving cousins.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 18, 2026 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, located at 28 Shoolhouse Road, Whiting, NJ. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, located at 350 Province Line Road, Wrightstown, NJ. Inurnment will be private.
