Anna Teresa Heesemann, 86, of Whiting, New Jersey, passed away late in the morning on Sunday, August 2, 2026.

Anna was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, to Pietro "Pete" and Olympia "Rita" Fiorentino. She was the oldest of eight children. She later moved to Woodhaven, Queens, where she resided for most of her life before settling in Whiting in 2024.

Known affectionately as "Ann" and "Annie" she began her career as a telephone operator for AT&T. She also worked in a cardiologist's office at Interboro Hospital in Brooklyn. She later served as an administrative assistant in the pediatric clinic at the New York Foundling Hospital until her retirement in 2003.

While living in Woodhaven, Ann was a Eucharistic Minister at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, an active Girl Scout troop leader, and a member of the Cypress Hills Swim Club. After moving to Whiting, she enjoyed attending activities at Crestwood Village 6, going to local dances, and playing bingo.

Ann was predeceased by her loving husband, Karl Heesemann, in 1990; her grandchild, CJ Vazoulas; and her brother, Anthony Fiorentino

She is survived by her children and their spouses: Teresa and David Reeves of Whiting NJ; Karl and Eileen Heesemann of Woodhaven NY; Donna and Chris Vazoulas of Farmingdale, NY; and Kurt and Debbie Heesemann of North Babylon, NY.

She is also survived by her siblings, Michael Fiorentino, Marge Ashbaugh, Josephine VanOrden, Louise Sokolowski, Peter Fiorentino, and George Fiorentino; her grandchildren, Kris, Vicki, Karen, Lisa Marie, Kara Ann, Shannon, Ryan, Cody, Victoria, Julianne, and Amanda; and her great-grandchildren, Angelo-David, Matteo, and Zachary.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at 10:45 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, located at 30 Schoolhouse Road in Whiting, New Jersey.

A memorial service will follow from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, located at 28 Schoolhouse Road in Whiting, New Jersey.


Monday August 17, 2026 a Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 am at St Thomas the Apostle church, located at 87-19 88th Avenue, Woodhaven NY, 11421.

Interment at Cypress Hills Cemetery will immediately follow afterwards.
