Anthony M. Basso, 100, of Whiting, passed away Friday, November 16, 2012 at Crestwood Manor Healthcare Center in Whiting. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he lived in Hasbrouck Heights, NJ before moving to Whiting in 1975. He was a supervisor for the Federal Reserve Bank of New York in New York City, NY for 30 years, retiring in 1971. Anthony was a Bingo Worker for the Pine Ridge Audubon Lodge. He was an avid golfer winning many tournaments and awards. He was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. He was predeceased by his wife, Angela Basso in 2004, his daughter, Elinor Basso in 2005; a brother, Al Basso and two sister, Ann Mauro and Mary Marano. He is survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., Monday, Nov. 19th at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting. A Funeral Liturgy will follow at 10:45 a.m. at the All Saints Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. Interment will be at Whiting Memorial Park.
