Anton Oliver, 104, of Whiting, passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2021. Born in Chicago. IL, he lived in New York City, NY and New Providence, NJ before moving to Whiting in 1984. Anton was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a manager in petrochemical sales at Amarada Hess Company in Woodbridge, NJ. Anton was predeceased by his beloved wife, Doris, in 2003 and his four siblings, Joe, Jimmy, Stanley and Walter. He is survived by three children, Virginia Sobecki and her husband, John, Jeanne Wilder and Joan Oliver; four grandchildren, Lindsay, Leigh, Michael and Joan and four great-grandchildren, Caroline, Charlotte, Quinn and Oliver. Services will be private under the direction of Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, Whiting. In lieu of flowers, donations made to The Salvation Army in Anton's memory would be greatly appreciated by his family.
