Antonia J. Newman, 100, passed away Friday, December 23, 2011 at the Van Dyke Hospice in Toms River. Born in Germany, she lived in Brooklyn, NY and Staten Island, NY for 20 years before moving to Whiting in 2004. She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. Antonia was predeceased by her husband, Reginald in 1996. She is survived by one daughter, Loretta Ready of Whiting; two sons, Reginald Newman of Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, NY and John Newman of Charlotte, NC; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. A Memorial Mass will be offered on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at 10:45 a.m. at the All Saints Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 30 Schoolhouse Rd., Whiting. Inurnment will follow in the chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, Whiting.
