Haber
June 14, 1929 – January 30, 2026
Armand "Spud" Haber, 96, passed away at home on January 30, 2026. He was born in Newark, NJ, to parents Fred and Hazel Haber. He married his wife, Helen, and the couple lived in Irvington and Union before residing in Whiting twenty-five years ago.
Armand was a loyal post office employee, working as a letter carrier in Irvington and later being promoted to supervisor at the Newark Ironbound Post Office. Armand was an avid Yankees fan and always loved spending time with family, including celebrating holidays, bowling in a bowling league, and trips to Atlantic City together. Armand adored Helen and cherished his family.
Armand is predeceased by his loving wife of seventy-seven years, Helen Haber (2025) and his brother Al Haber. He is survived by his children, Fred Haber (Kathy), Pat Pattavina (Phil), Robert Haber (Liz), Matt Haber (Kris), Margie Zorns (Doug), Donna Fortier (Brian), and Sandy Streeter (Scott); along with his 18 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at 10:45 a.m. at the All Saints Chapel of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, located at 30 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting, NJ. Entombment will immediately follow at Ocean County Memorial Park, 280 Wells Mills Road, Waretown, NJ 08758.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting, NJ 08759, (732) 350-1950.
