July 4, 1945 – February 5, 2023
Bernard J. Wheaton (Bernie), 77, of Berkley Township sadly passed away on the 5th of
February 2023 at RWJ University Hospital. Bernie was a great man loved by all, especially his
adoring wife, Deborah Ann. Bernie is predeceased by his parents John and Alice Wheaton. He
is survived by his loving wife of 22 years and his children Mark and Ian, his daughter-in-Law
Diane and his grandchildren Jack and Isaac, all of whom he idolized. Bernie was welcomed,
loved and embraced by the whole extended Petraccoro family, Jerry, Sharon, Jerry Jr, Sara,
Cherie, Melissa, Zohar, Paul, Jessica, Christopher, and all of their children. Bernie also
considered his beloved friends as family; Doc and Darlene Carey; Joe, and Janelle Clegg;
Jonathan and Kim Gibson; Donna and Steven Suppa, and all their children.
Born in Liverpool, England on the 4th of July 1945 in humble beginnings, Bernie rose to
be a founder and Managing Director of Logitek Technologies, a company at the forefront of the
home computer revolution in the 1980's. He was honored to be on the cover of Channel
Magazine Technology in the UK as a result of his technological knowledge and professionalism.
Among his many interests, he was a proud and avid fan of Liverpool football club, and a world
traveler.
Bernie met the love of his life, Deborah Ann, in 1996 and moved to United States in
2002, proudly receiving his American Citizenship in 2017. Bernie touched many lives and will be
greatly missed by all.
Private services will be held by Manchester Funeral Home. The memorial mass will be
held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church on the 6th of March, at 10:45 am. In Lieu of flowers
please donate to the following charities, St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital and the
Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.
