Betty Jean Snyder, 95, of Whiting, NJ, passed away on March 20, 2024.

Born December 28, 1928, in Plainfield, NJ, she then grew up in Somerville, NJ, and lived there most of her life before moving to Largo, FL, then to Phillipsburg, NJ, and then to Whiting, NJ.

Betty was a bookkeeper for The Visiting Homemakers in Somerville NJ for 20 years.

Betty was predeceased by her husband, John Snyder in 2017, her parents, Paul & Ella Greck (Hill), her brother Edward Greck, and her daughter Shirley Carmon.

Betty is survived by her daughter, Joyce (John) Monahan. Her grandchildren, George (Lisa ) Varkoly, Stacy (Mark) Androshick, Kelly (Jimmy) Cusumano and former granddaughter-n-law Jennifer Varkoly; her great-grandchildren Cody Bruchmann (Carly), June Varkoly (Rob), Dylan Golen (Amber), Megan Bruchmann (Isaac), Aidan Varkoly, Devyn Cusumano (Zachary); her great-great grandchildren Nala, Jasiah & Ezekiel Reaves and Giana Scarl and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends, whom she considered her family.

In her spare time, Betty loved to crochet scarves for the homeless. Betty also loved to sit on the benches near the small airport nearby just watching the planes take off and land, having never flown in one herself. Nothing brought more joy to Betty than to be with her family & friends.

A Viewing will be held on March 30, 2024, from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm. A Prayer Service will be held during the viewing at 12:30 pm.
