She is survived by her son, Bryan, and his partner, Tricia; her granddaughter, Zoe; and Al Blankenstein, who shared several happy years of companionship with her. Carol also leaves behind her brothers Jimmy and Bob (Lynda) Trainor, sisters Ruth (Richie Chifulini) Dygan and Maureen (Anthony) Salamone, cousins Carol Ellison and Judy Hunt, sister in law and friend Rosalie (Dominick) Creanzo, several nieces and nephews, and a close circle of friends. Growing up in Jersey City as the oldest child, Carol developed a clear sense of responsibility and a no-nonsense approach to life. She worked for the Hopatcong School District for many years before moving to Whiting in her retirement. She appreciated the simple things and enjoyed an active lifestyle that included flea markets, bus trips, plays and musicals, trips to Point Pleasant, and spending time with friends and family.
