Catherine A. Suszczewicz, 86, of Whiting, NJ, peacefully passed away on Saturday, September 13, 2025.
Born in Newark, NJ, Catherine grew up there with her parents, Jennie and Patrick Manziano, and four siblings. After her marriage, she lived in Elizabeth and Brick, NJ, before moving to Whiting 30 years ago.
Catherine worked as a bookkeeper for Igoe Brothers and Royal Dairy for much of her career. Later in life, after raising her children, she worked as a retail merchandiser for Crystal Brands (Monet, Trifari, and Marvella Jewelry Division) and Fossil, Inc., before retiring in 2008.
In her free time, Catherine enjoyed spending time with her friends, working jumbo word puzzles, and visiting the casinos and boardwalk in Atlantic City.
Catherine was preceded in death by her parents, Jennie and Patrick Manziano; her beloved husband, of 52 years, William ("John"/"Bill"); her sister, Lorraine Nigro; and her brother, Anthony Manziano.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Craig, and her husband, Jim, her son, Paul Suszczewicz, and his wife, Cinda, and her granddaughter, Tanner Nicole Craig. She is also survived by her sister, Eleanor Schaefer; her brother, Patrick Manziano; his wife, Phyllis; her cousin, Sharyn Miller; her husband, Jim; her nephew, Wayne Nigro, his wife, Trish; and many other nieces and nephews.
She will be lovingly remembered by her dearest friends, Kathy and Richie Feihl, along with many neighbors and friends, including Vinnie, Dave, Ed, SueAnn, Carol, and Vera.
A Celebration of Catherine's Life will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025, from 1–3 p.m. at Village I Clubhouse (Friendship Hall), 92 Fairway Lane, Whiting, NJ. A light lunch will be served.
