Christel E. Schuster, 89, of Whiting, passed away Thursday, September 1, 2011 at AristaCare of Whiting. Born in Koenigsberg, Germany, she came to the United States in 1950 and lived in New York for 25 years before moving to Whiting in 1975. Christel was a homemaker and a longtime active member of the Whiting Bible Church. She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Albert in 2001. Surviving are one son, Reinhold Schuster; one daughter, Christel Listmeier; four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 6, at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Rd., Whiting. A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Whiting Memorial Park.
