Clifford C. Wilson Sr. of Whiting, NJ, passed away on April 25 after a bout with cancer. He was 90 years old.

He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Roberta, and their two children Cliff Wilson Jr. (Louise Currey Wilson) of Princeton, and Judy Wilson Enuco (Paul Enuco) of Berlin, NJ, along with grandchildren Hannah Wilson and Brad Goren-Wilson. Their younger son, Christopher, died in 1981. Cliff was also predeceased by his parents, Hannah and Asher Wilson, and his siblings Leroy Wilson, Asher Wilson, Dorothy Kish, Marion Wendling Dickerson, Harold Wilson, Charles Wilson, and John Wilson.

Known as an exceptionally kind and gentle man, Cliff grew up on Osage Road in North Brunswick. He and Bobbie raised their children in the same house where Cliff grew up. They moved to Whiting in 2004.

Cliff graduated from New Brunswick High School in 1951 and was married in 1954. He served four years in the Navy, primarily as a metalsmith on the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Ticonderoga. He went on to work for the Gates Rubber Company in New Brunswick for 25 years as a member of the Teamsters Union.

He was a fine musician, singing and playing trumpet and bass guitar, primarily with the group Don Hess and the Executives.

Cliff also had a passion for the ocean; he loved scuba diving and was a certified Master Diving Instructor.

A viewing and remembrance service will be held at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home in Whiting on Friday, April 28 at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Clean Ocean Action.
