Daniel John Matejka, 76, of Whiting, NJ, passed surrounded by loved ones on February 26, 2026 at Community Medical Center in Toms River, NJ. Daniel was born in The Bronx, NY to parents Bernard and Lillian Matejka. In 2015, Daniel had moved to Peekskill, NY then Spring Hill, Florida and eventually settled in Whiting in 2019.

Daniel had a successful thirty-three year long career working as a sales representative for Group Health Insurance, before retiring in 2011. He enjoyed working in his garage as he preferred to spend his free time tinkering with many objects and materials.

Daniel was predeceased by his first wife, Josephine Matejka; his parents, Bernard and Lillian Matejka; his sisters, Jane Matejka-Wicinski and Helen Stretch; his brother, George Matejka; and his daughter, Dawn Colini-Navallo.

He is survived by his wife, Theresa; his daughter, Lisa Matejka; his grandson, Lewis Navallo; and many loving nieces and nephews.

A viewing will be held on Sunday, March 1, 2026 from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, located at 28 Schoolhouse Road in Whiting.

A mass will be offered on Monday, March 2, 2026 at 10:15 am at the Church of the Holy Spirit, located at 1969 Compound Road in Cortlandt Manor, NY. Burial will immediately follow at Hillside Cemetery, located at1033 Oregon Road in Cortlandt Manor, NY.
