Dennis Cavanaugh, 77, of Whiting, NJ passed away on June 11, 2026 at Community Medical Center in Toms River, NJ. Dennis was born in Brooklyn, NY to parents Thomas and Harriet Cavanaugh. Dennis and his wife, Linda, moved to Jackson, NJ, in 1969 and lived in Winter Haven, FL, and Freehold, NJ, before settling in Whiting in 2009.



For over twenty-five years, Dennis worked as an Iron Worker for Local 40 in New York City, before retiring in 1989. Dennis was a former member of the Fossils Car Club as he adored antique cars. He was also a member of Shooters Gun Club. He enjoyed watching old war movies, cheering on the Mets and listening to Doo Wop music in his spare time. 



Dennis is predeceased by his loving wife Linda Cavanaugh (2025). He is survived by his children and their partners, Ronald (Eileen) Cavanaugh , Kathleen (Joseph) Banfield, Lynn (David) Hatter, and Scott (Christen) Cavanaugh; and his grandchildren, Angelia, Tristan, Brandon, Daniella, Jackson, Logan, and Corinna. Along with his siblings. 



A Viewing will be held on Friday, June 19, 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, located at 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting, NJ 08759. A Funeral Ceremony will be held on Friday, June 19, 2026, at 5:30 PM at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home. 



Burial will occur on Saturday June 20, 2026 at 10:00 am at Old Tennent Cemetery & Memorial located at 448 Tennent Road, Tennent, NJ 07726.
