Dennis W. O'Mara, 66, passed away on Wednesday, November 20, 2013. Born October 20, 1947 in Jersey City, he spent a portion of his childhood in Kearny, NJ. The family moved to Brick Township when Dennis was nine. A U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, he was stationed on the U.S.S. Midway and the U.S.S. Oriskany. Dennis was a welder and a long distance truck driver. He met Brenda Lee Hartt in San Francisco and married her in Salt Lake City, Utah. Dennis was an avid reader, baseball enthusiast and loved the outdoors. Son of William E. O'Mara and Helen M. (Davies) O'Mara, he is survived by four children, Lelainia A. O'Mara of West Virginia, Brian D. O'Mara, his wife, Maria of Salt Lake City, Utah, Patrick F. O'Mara of Salt Lake City, Utah and Kevin W. O'Mara of Colorado; one sister, Barbara Colley, her husband, Gregory of Brick Township, their children, Jacqueline and Gregory. He is also survived by his grandchildren Nicholas, Kathryn, Sedona, Gavin, Sierra, Harley and Alexia. The family would like to express their deep appreciation to the staff at AristaCare at Whiting and Caring Hospice. Services are under the direction of Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, Whiting.
