Dorothy Pojednic, 81, passed away on the night of June 11, 2026 in the comfort of her daughter's home. Dorothy was born in Passaic, NJ, moved to Clifton, NJ before settling in High Bar Harbor in Long Beach Township in 1991 with her husband Jon.

For most of Dorothy's career, she worked as a manager for Snyder Eye Group before her retirement in 1998. Dorothy loved to be active and frequently played tennis and pickleball. She loved going to the beach, especially Long Beach Island or traveling to Islamorado, Florida. The most important thing in her life was family. She loved all of her family members, especially the grandchildren and cherished every moment with them. Dorothy will be remembered as tenacious or "The Matriarch" of her family.

Dorothy is predeceased by her daughter Kathy (2009). She is survived by her husband of sixty-two years, Jon; her daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Glenn Sorbara of Manahawkin, NJ; her grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Sean, and Jake; her brother and sister-in-law, Vincent and Janice Noonan of High Bar Harbor, NJ; and her sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and Jon Koehler of Englewood, FL.


A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at 11:00 AM at St Francis of Assisi Parish, located at 4700 Long Beach Boulevard, Brant Beach, NJ 08008. Mass will follow at 12:00 pm.
