July 23, 1931 – November 20, 2025
Dorothy Sagosz Skripak, 94, a former resident of Whiting, New Jersey living in Port Saint Lucie, Florida, passed away peacefully at home on November 20, 2025. Born and raised in Bayonne, New Jersey, she also lived in Freehold before moving to Whiting in 1995.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Stephen Skripak. She is survived by one son, Stephen Justin Skripak (Valerie) of Dublin, Virginia, and four daughters, Sandy Farmer (Charles) of Goldsboro, North Carolina, Daria Hartman (Charles) of Monmouth Junction, New Jersey, Dianne Wilson (Robert) of Port Saint Lucie Florida, and Susan Payne of Wake Forest, North Carolina, as well as her sister Margaret of Whiting, eight grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her beloved pet chihuahua George.
During her time in Whiting, Dorothy was a dedicated volunteer at Somebody CARES, a non-profit dedicated to supporting seniors in the community. She worked at Union Carbide in New York City, at 3M Corporation in Freehold, and at several other companies. She was blessed with a green thumb and loved taking care of flowers and plants. She was skilled in games like rummy cubes, mah-jongg, and many others. Dorothy loved to read and was a member of a book club with her daughters, in which they would all read the same books and then hold discussions. She enjoyed an active life including travel, visiting her children and grandchildren, line dancing, and shuffleboard. She frequently took in Broadway shows, especially with her kids and grandkids. Her infectious smile could light up a room, projecting her warmth and love for family, friends, and neighbors.
Relatives and friends may call on the family on December 4 from 4pm to 7pm at the Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting. A funeral service will be held at 10am at the St. Mary's Russian Orthodox Church, 316 Cassville Road, Jackson, with burial to follow in the adjoining St. Vladimir's Cemetery.
