Edith I. LaTorre, 81, of Whiting, passed away Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at Community Medical Center in Toms River. Born in Rochester, NY, she lived in Toms River before moving to Whiting in 1996. Edith was a retired nurse. She worked at Kimball Medical Center in Lakewood and, later, at Southern Ocean Medical Center in Manahawkin. She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. Edith was predeceased by her husband of 45 years, Robert M. LaTorre in 2010; her son, Thomas LaTorre in 1996 and her sister, Carole Finch. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Kim and John Mooney of Whiting; two sons and daughters-in-law, Marc and Donna LaTorre and Michael and Alisa LaTorre; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Gathering on Monday, March 26th from 5 to 8 p.m. at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, March 27th at 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Inurnment will follow at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans' Memorial Cemetery in Arneytown.
