Edwin "Ed" F. Healy, 88, of the Cedar Glen Lakes section of Whiting, Manchester Twp., passed away Sunday, Dec. 11, 2011. Born in Jersey City, he moved to Whiting in 1995. Mr. Healy was a Lieutenant with the Jersey City Police Department for whom he worked for 37 years, retiring in 1989. He was a member of the FOP, VFW, and the American Legion. He was also an Altar Server and a Eucharistic Minister and belonged to the Holy Name Society and the Knights of Columbus, Our Lady of the Pines Council, all of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton RC Church, Whiting. Mr. Healy was a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran of WWII. Mr. Healy is survived by his wife, Katherine T. Misuta Healy, one daughter, Corinne Griffin; three sons, Timothy, Gerard, & Daniel; one sister, Margaret Healy; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Friends & Relatives may call Wednesday, 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Rd., Whiting. A Funeral Liturgy will be held Thursday at 10:45 AM from the All Saints Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton R.C. Church, 30 Schoolhouse Rd., Whiting with interment to follow in the Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown, NJ.
