Eileen E. Alfonso, 72, of Whiting passed away Monday, December 19, 2016 peacefully at home. She was born in Jersey City, NJ; lived in Bayonne, Parlin, and Toms River, before moving to Whiting 40 years ago. She was one of the owners of J&L Carpet for the past 32 years. She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. Eileen loved to care for her cats, cook, and spend time with her great nieces and nephews: Victoria, Conner, Julia, and Jonas, as well as her good friend Al. Eileen was predeceased by her beloved husband, Louis, of 42 years in 2011. She is survived by her nephew, Michael Hindle, of San Diego, CA; niece, Jill Fisher, of Toms River, NJ. Visitation will be Monday, Dec. 26th from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Rd, Whiting. A Funeral Liturgy will be offered Tuesday, Dec. 27th at 10:45 am at the All Saints Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. Interment will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Toms River, NJ.
