Eleanor C. Elmendorf (nee Mich), 96, of Cherry Hill, formerly of Whiting, passed away Friday, November 19, 2010 at St. Mary's Catholic Home in Cherry Hill. Eleanor was born in Philadelphia, PA, and lived in Willingboro, NJ and Broadway, VA. She received her Associate Degree from Villanova University and was a Civil Service Government Worker for 27 years. She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting and was a member of the church's Altar Rosary Society and Pastoral Ministry. She was a Third Order Member of the Secular Franciscans. She was predeceased by her husband, John J. Elmendorf in 1995, her daughter, Theresa Carroll; her brothers, Francis, Bernard, Charles, Larry and Stanley and her sister, Bertha Darragh. She is survived by five children, Eleanor Elmendorf, Rita Haines, John J. Elmendorf, Jr., Joseph J. Elmendorf and Dr. Charles F. Elmendorf; two sisters, Sister Rita Mary Mich, O.S.F. and Sister Theresa Mary Mich, O.S.F.; 16 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. Relatives and friends may call from 9 to 9:45am., Saturday, Nov. 27th at the Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Rd., Whiting followed by a Funeral Liturgy at 10 AM, at the All Saints Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. Interment will be at St. Mary of the Lake Cemetery, Lakewood. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St. Mary's Auxiliary, 210 St. Mary Drive, Cherry Hill, NJ 08003.
