Eleanor G. Strasser, 84, of the Whiting section of Manchester passed away on Monday, January 10, 2022 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. Born in Elizabeth, she lived in Old Bridge for 38 years before moving to Whiting in 2000. Prior to her retirement, she was the head registrar at Saint Peter's Hospital, New Brunswick, for many years. She and her late husband also owned and operated Salon Coiffures in Union, and she later worked as a hairdresser for the Hegarty Funeral Home in Old Bridge. Eleanor was a Trustee of the Board of Crestwood Village 6, and had many accomplishments improving the Village. She was a parishioner of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton RC Church, Whiting, where she was a member of the Rosary Altar Society and a Eucharistic Minister. She was predeceased by her husband Richard in 2004. She is survived by her daughters, Kathleen Johns and her husband Henry, and Lisa Ann Scranton and her husband John; her grandchildren, Kimberly Johns and her wife Lauren, Kristen Przylbylko and her husband David, and Alexa Rae Scranton; her great-grandchildren, Ava Rae, Brielle Laci, and Cayla Joann; her longtime companion, John Zubrycky; and her brother, Anthony Esteves. Cremation was private. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday, January 21, 2022 at 10:45am at the All Saints Chapel of St Elizabeth Ann Seton RC Church, 30 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting.
