Elizabeth "Betty" Mary Humphreys of Whiting, New Jersey, was born May 29th, 1935 to John and Mary Mulligan in Brooklyn, New York. She married James W. Humphreys on February 1st, 1958; they happily enjoyed over 63 years of marriage. Together they were blessed with four children: Patricia, James, Douglas, & Kevin, who spent the majority of their childhoods in Old Bridge, and then Jackson, New Jersey. Betty was a devout, devoted member of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish and drew profound fulfillment from volunteering at Kimball Medical Center's Treasure Chest and teaching religious education to children at Saint Aloysius in Jackson. Betty was an avid reader who loved to sew and bake. She is remembered by her family as a faithful and loving caregiver with prodigious confidence and strong convictions. She died at 11:59 AM on June 5th, 2021, preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Joan; and her grandson, Ryan. Betty is survived by her husband, James; her daughter, Patricia; her son, James and his wife, Robin; her son, Douglas and his wife, Nancy; her son, Kevin and his wife, MaryLee; her seven remaining grandchildren; and her six great-grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation honoring Betty at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home on Saturday, June 12th, 2021 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM. A funeral mass will be held shortly after at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Church at 10:45 AM.
