Toms River, NJ- On Saturday March 8, 2025, Elizabeth "Lizzie" M. (Lenahan) Kelly, passed away peacefully in her sleep. She was 83 years old. Lizzie was born on March 15, 1941 in Brooklyn, New York. She married Joseph A. Kelly on September 19, 1959. Together, they raised three children - Joseph, Robert, and Susan. Elizabeth was employed by the New York City Board of Education.

She was devoted to her Catholic faith and was constantly surrounded by her collection of decorative angels and religious art. Lizzie had a vibrant sense of humor and loved to have fun, whether she was dancing in the rain or donning a full gorilla suit on occasion. She loved spending time with family, friends, and neighbors.

Lizzie is predeceased by her parents- Adelaide and Edward, her siblings- Howard, Butch, Carol, Joanie, Ronnie, Bobby, and Patricia, her husband Joseph, her son Bobby Kelly, and her granddaughter Nicole Kelly.

She is survived by her son Joseph T. Kelly and his wife Barbara, her daughter Susan Kelly Fontano and her husband John Fontano, her grandchildren- Joseph Kelly, Tara Kelly, Brian Kelly, Kaitlyn Fontano, and Kristen Fontano, and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Elizabeth's honor on Saturday, March 29, 2025 at Manchester Funeral Home located at 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting, NJ 08759 from 3-5 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorial contributions to your favorite animal welfare charity be considered.
