Elmer Cordes "Skip" Martens, Jr., 88, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, March 4th after a lengthy illness. His loving wife of 56 years, Theresa (Beaumont) was by his side. He remained involved in Navy activities and traveled around the country to organize and attend numerous reunions. He was an electrical contractor who owned and ran his own business for 40 years. Skip was a lifetime Yankee fan who enjoyed nothing better than a few beers in front of the TV with a good baseball game. Skip had eight grandchildren, who he loved dearly, Allison, Alex, Hailey, Kirsten, Caroline, Nicholas, Ian and Emma. A private memorial service will be held on a future date.
