Evelyn N. Failla, 81, of Whiting, passed away on July 9th, at home. Born and resided in Queens, NY, before moving to Whiting, in 1980. Evelyn worked as a registered nurse at Booth Memorial Hospital in Flushing, NY, and Community Medical Center in Toms River. She was a member of Sewing Quilt Club at Christ Lutheran Church, Whiting. She was a also a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Whiting. She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. Evelyn was predeceased by her beloved husband, Mario, on April 6, 2008. She is survived by her three daughters, Noella Stober, Marguerite Pawlowski, and Susan Pecunia; two sons, Dr. Mark Failla and Paul Failla; one brother, George Noel, seven grandchildren, Christine, Paul, Adam, Toni, Nichole, Jamie, and Victoria; and four great-grandchildren, Brittany, Sean, Jessica, and J.J. Relatives and friends may call from 7 to 9 pm, on Wednesday, July 15th and from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 16th at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Rd, Whiting, NJ. A service will be held on Thursday at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Sewing Quilt Club at Christ Lutheran Church 40 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting, NJ 08759.
