Felix Kowalski, 92, of Whiting, NJ, passed into eternal rest on Saturday, January 28, 2012. Born in Ramapo, NY, Felix lived in Bayonne where he was a communicant of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. In the early 50's, he moved to Iselin, where he resided for many years and attended St. Cecelia's Church, before a brief residence in Florida. In the early 80's, he moved to Crestwood Village VII in Whiting, where he has been a parishioner of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church.
Felix was a veteran of the US Army, serving honorably in World War II and often recounting his proud years of service to the US. He worked for General Motors in Linden and then for many years at the Ford Motor Company in Edison, from which he retired. He enjoyed activities at the Fernwood Hall Clubhouse and was an avid gardener, taking great joy in this activity.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 61 years, Theodora (nee Sayek) and many loving nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held at 9:45 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 31 Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting. Entombment will follow at St. Gertrude's Cemetery in the Good Shepherd Chapel Mausoleum, 53 Inman Avenue, Colonia. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Somebody C.A.R.E.S., 48 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting, NJ 08759, would be appreciated.
