Frank Modica, 92 of Whiting, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, December 5. Born and raised in Brooklyn, he moved to Whiting in 1992. Frank worked for over 50 years in the grocery business, retiring from Key Foods as a Store Manager. Frank made friends everywhere he went, he enjoyed walking his dog, Minzy, around the neighborhood just so they could meet people. He loved to sing, and would often go to local bars and restaurants for Karaoke, at least 2 times every week. Frank was predeceased by his wife Iris, in 2014. He is survived by his children, Frank Jr., and Carolyn; his brother, Vincent; his granddaughters, Nicole and Willow; and his great grandchildren, Tyler, Josiah, Logan, and Makayla. Viewing will be on Tuesday, December 8, from 11:00am until 2:00pm at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home 28 Schoolhouse Road Whiting. A funeral Service will held at 1:30pm in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Whiting Memorial Park.
