Frederick Mohr, 87, of Whiting, passed away Tuesday, February 23, 2021. Born in Jersey City, he lived in North Bergen and Hazlet before moving to Whiting in 1995. Frederick was a North Bergen Police Officer. He also owned and operated Mohr Roofing. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing, crabbing and gardening. Frederick loved taking trips with his children and grandchildren. He loved his dogs and loved Thanksgiving. He was a U.S. Navy veteran during the Korean War.
Frederick was predeceased by his parents, Ferdinand and Pauline Mohr; his daughter, Carleen M. Widelitz and his brother, Robert Mohr. He is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Carole Mohr; five children, Fred Mohr, Michael Mohr and his wife, Lisa, Susan Mohr, Douglas Mohr and his wife, Lisa and Carole Rio; his brother, Donald Mohr; his sister, Irene McAllister and her husband, Randall; eight grandchildren, Justin, Kyle, Weston, Robert, Quinton, Isabella, Luke and Zackary and many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on Friday, March 5th from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting, NJ. A Funeral Service will be offered at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Inurnment will follow at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans' Memorial Cemetery in Arneytown.
