George P. Goedel, 98, of Whiting passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2022 at Community Medical Center, Toms River. Born in Queens, NY, he lived in Uniondale, NY and in Matawan before settling in Whiting 40 years ago. Mr. Goedel retired as a Second Vice President from JP Morgan Chase after a 44 year career. He was a US Marine Corps Veteran of World War II, with combat in Okinawa. He was an avid collector of US Stamps, and was an HO gauge Model Railroading enthusiast. He was predeceased by his wife, Marian, in 2005. He is survived by his children, George Goedel and his wife Gail, Kathleen Throckmorton and her husband Donald, Karen Bregoff, Patricia Thomsen, and Deborah Goedel; 9 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren. A Memorial Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 from 9:30 to 11:30am at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting, followed by a Funeral Service at 11:30am. Interment will follow at 1:00pm at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veteran's Memorial Cemetery.
