Gerald W. McCann,78, of Whiting, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2025.

Gerry was born in Newark, NJ, on March 9, 1947. A proud graduate of St.Benedict's Prep in Newark, NJ, he went on to earn his Bachelor's Degree from Biscayne College, Miami, Florida. He built a successful career in Advertising and Printing at the NY Daily News and North Jersey Newspapers.

During his retirement, Gerry enjoyed playing golf, fishing & participating in games and social activities with Clayre, his wife, and local friends in their community. He cheered on his favorite baseball team, the Dodgers, as well as other sports teams. Gerry was an active member of the community in Whiting and volunteered, sharing his knowledge and talents with many.

He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Clayre B. McCann, with whom he built a life full of fun, laughter, and enduring love. Also, cherishing his memory are his siblings Judith Pagano (Ronald), Cynthia Rich (Allen), and Robert McCann, as well as his nieces and nephews.

Gerry's legacy is one of love, devotion, and quiet strength of a life well lived. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends forever. Please perform a kind gesture in Gerry's memory to make the world a better place.

A Memorial Gathering will be held at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home on October 25, 2025, from 8:30 to 10:30 am. A Funeral Mass will follow at 10:45 a.m. at the All Saints Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton RC Church, located at 30 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting, NJ.
