Harry Fischer, Jr., 84, of Whiting, passed away Saturday, September30, 2017 at Community Medical Center in Toms River. Born in Haddon Heights, NJ, he lived in Rockaway, NJ, Waretown, NJ and Vero Beach, FL before moving to Whiting four years ago. Harry was a U.S. Navy veteran (8 years, EM2) of the Korean War and was a member of the V.F.W. and Elks in Whiting. He graduated from Drexel University and was an electrical engineer for Bell Telephone in Basking Ridge, NJ. He was predeceased by his sister, Harriet McDowell. He is survived by his wife, Geraldine Fischer; sister, Gladys Seeds, loving daughter, Beth Steinbrenner; and three grandchildren, Erick, Carter and Ashleigh. A Memorial Gathering will be held on Friday, Oct. 6th from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting.
