IRENE MARY McCARTY, 85, of Whiting, MANCHESTER, died Thursday, April 3, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune. Mrs. McCarty was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. She moved to Whiting 20 years ago. She was an artist, homemaker and loving mom and wife. She loved bike riding, knitting and swimming. She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. She was predeceased by her husband, William in 1975 and two sisters, Valerie Scheer and Jean Piccone. She is survived by three children, Kim Norris of Matawan, NJ, Arthur McCarty of Roy, UT and Paul McCarty of Brooklyn, NY; five grandchildren, Colin McCarty, Stacey Norris, Kelly Norris, Stephanie McCarty and Ashley "Bug" McCarty and one great-granddaughter, Amanda McCarty. A Funeral Liturgy will be offered at 10 a.m. Saturday in the All Saints Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, Whiting is in charge of arrangements.
