Iris Modica, 84, of Whiting, passed away Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at Community Medical Center in Toms River, NJ. Born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, she lived in Brooklyn, NY before moving to Whiting in 1992. She was a credit collector for real estate companies in New York. Iris was a member of the Hilltop Chorus Club. She is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years, Frank Modica; two loving children, Frank of Whiting and Carolyn of Staten Island, NY; one dear brother, Richard Santiago; two cherished grandchildren and three cherished great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 9 to 11:30 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 13th at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting. A Prayer Service will be held at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Whiting Memorial Park, Whiting, NJ.
